How We Meet The Diverse Needs Of Our Students
All Saints Catholic Elementary School is committed to Catholic education as outlined in the Mission Statement of the Toronto Catholic District School Board. With Catholic faith as our common bond, we focus on our students who come to us with a variety of strengths and needs. Our prayer life, liturgical celebrations, the sacraments, and our faith and values system form the foundation of our programs.
Our school policy encompasses routines and procedures which ensure a safe and welcoming learning environment for all students. The Code of Conduct emphasizes mutual respect, conflict resolution and self-discipline. The safety of our students is of utmost importance at All Saints Catholic Elementary School. The safe arrival and departure programs ensure constant home to school communication when a student is absent or late. Our main priority is to make certain students arrive to school and back home safely.
The school community endorses a dress code consisting of a navy blue and white and every student at All Saints Catholic School adheres to the dress code daily.
Please be aware that All Saints Catholic School is a scent sensitive environment. Individuals in our building have sensitivities to scented products, resulting in adverse effects on their health. All staff, students and visitors are kindly asked to refrain from or minimize the use of scented products while at our building.
All Saints Catholic Elementary School also offers the PLASP Child Care Services Program, a not-for-profit community organization that provides affordable, high quality child care for working parents. The program runs in the school building from 7:30 am -8:30 am and from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm daily and on PA Days programs. Before and after-school snacks and activities are provided.
Daily prayers, religion lessons, monthly rosary sessions, and the integration of Gospel values across the curriculum, are integral components of our program. Select classes also participate in “The Rosary in the Schools” program where students have the opportunity to pray the rosary and have it broadcast live on the Radio Maria radio network. Active participation in the celebration of the Eucharist is taught, modeled and encouraged at All Saints Catholic Elementary School. Monthly masses and confessions are prepared in conjunction with our parish team and these masses allow for students from various divisions to take leadership roles as greeters, members of the processions, and readers.
Every three years our board (TCDSB) launches a pastoral plan that helps to nurture our Catholic community. The theme for the 2018 to 2021 academic years are:
“Rooted in Christ: We Belong, We Believe, We Become”.
Through the Religion and Family Life Programs in our school, students will deepen their understanding of the Catholic traditions, roles of Christian service, vocations, and responsible participation in the political and social spheres of community life. We hope to inspire our students through curriculum that is rooted in Gospel values and informed by the Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations, helping them to realize their potential and to know what it means to be a discerning believer.
